Wanda Warren  PT, L.Ac., Dipl.Ac, MHS

I am the owner and director of Wisdom Traditions Wellness, LLC established in 2005. I am a Dual Licensed Physical Therapist and Acupuncturist in the state of Alaska.  Previously in Florida, a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM), but here in AK we are only allowed to use term “Acupuncturist”. There are many DOMs in Alaska called Acupuncturists.

I acquired a Master of Physical Therapy/Adult Education from The Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. My Master’s Degree focuses on Musculoskeletal Manual Techniques and the BioMechanics of Movement and Posture. Craniosacral Therapy and manual therapies became my love in 1994.
Immediately after graduation I worked with Acute and Rehabilitation patients in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Home Health and Outpatient Rehabilitation centers, all specializing in orthopedics and chronic pain. Not completely satisfied with a strictly western approach to medicine, and my own pain complaints, I re-entered academia, this time to master the healing traditions of the East. I continued my work in Hospital settings throughout my Acupuncture studies, honing my skills in integrating the best of East and West Manual Therapies. I studied Traditional Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture from The East West College of Natural Medicine, completing my studies in 1997 and becoming a licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine in the state of Florida.  I successfully owned, developed and directed an integrative medical center in Sarasota FL starting in 1997.  Named after my unique approach; Response Therapies, Inc.  I provided Acupuncturists, PTs, OTs, MDs, Naturopathic Doctors, Counselors and Massage Therapists all working under one roof in a team.

I moved to Alaska in 2004, creating another integrative facility focusing on mental health integration with counselors and recovery professionals, Wisdom Traditions Wellness Center 2005-2018. In 2018 I finished my role in managing the integration of Wisdom Traditions Wellness, LLC and Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services, LLC under the previous location name of  Wisdom Traditions Wellness Center.  I then moved Wisdom Traditions Wellness, LLC  into a specialized smaller clinic, opening my time to write and build classes.

Now after 26 years experience integrating Eastern and Western medical professions and paradigms, I continue with my passion for life-long learning, focusing on the most recent techniques for assisting my patients.

Over the years I trained in the following healing methods: Yoga, Emotional Balance treatments with Acupuncture, Dry Needling, CranioSacral & Somato-Emotional Release, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Breathing Exercises, Medical Qigong, Mental Health and EFT.  All of these methods assist patients with relief of Chronic Pain Patterns, Orthopedic Injuries, Headaches, Back and Neck pain.  My Acupuncture and Craniosacral techniques have assisted many with anxiety, headaches, depression and fatigue.

Throughout my professional journey I have personally studied with such notables as Don Miguel Ruiz, Norm Shealey, MD, Chinese Qigong Doctors and Peruvian Healers.  I have traveled and studied in China, South America and Europe.

I love to learn and teach, play with Dolphins and Big Cats, travel, write &  gardening in my back yard. I am an Artist at heart and Health & Wellness is an Art Form to me.
